GAC's new brand identity takes its inspiration from both the tradition of country music and its influence on the heart of American culture. Developed by Hollywood-based Troika Design Group under the direction of Stacey Killian Hagewood, vice president, Creative Services at GAC, the rebranding package launched in late 2005.
"We at GAC wanted an on-screen look that fused a sense of today and yesterday, touching on both modern music and Americana. The package we developed with Troika portrays that feel perfectly," Hagewood said.
GAC's new look comprises a redesigned logo, IDs, bumpers, promo toolkits, billboards and a music package with signature mnemonic centered on the visual theme of "modern tradition." The redesign was one of the last elements of a year-long GAC rebranding process.
"This was an extremely important part of the project to take the network to another level of quality and enhancement of the viewer experience under Scripps Networks' ownership," said Ed Hardy, GAC president. "The new GAC look is a wonderful reflection of our goal to be the leading country music-focused television network."
