Great American Country presents 'Great American Dedications'

Country's hottest names show support for U.S. troops
Nashville, Tenn. -- (May 18, 2006) -- Television network Great American Country (GAC) will show its support for the U.S. troops this Memorial Day with a weekend-long marathon featuring special music military dedications by and for members of the American Armed Forces. Great American Dedications, hosted throughout the weekend by country recording acts Jo Dee Messina, Montgomery Gentry, Luke Stricklin, Craig Morgan, Aaron Tippin, Mark Wills, Billy Ray Cyrus, SHeDAISY, Darryl Worley and Neal McCoy, will air Saturday, May 27 through Monday, May 29 and serve as a salute to all those working within our own borders and dutifully abroad.

"GAC understands the sacrifice our men and women of the armed forces make everyday to protect the country," said Sarah Trahern, senior vice president of programming. "Great American Dedications is our way of thanking them for their work, while also allowing the troops to connect with their families through the music they love."

GAC cameras visited military bases across the country and overseas to tape heartwarming video dedications from members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps to their family members.

In addition to the taped dedications, viewers are also encouraged to visit www.GACTV.com until May 15 to request videos to be played along with a personal message read by the artist guest hosts, many of whom have personal experience or connections to the military, to their family members in the military.

"To be able to participate in a project like this is like participating in a benefit and being able to raise money and give back," said Craig Morgan, who served in the military for 18 years. "It's a great opportunity for me to be able to sit back and listen to some of the soldier's requests and hear what they are saying. It's a very heartwarming and exciting opportunity for me."

GACtv.com provides visitors with a list of top 10 video picks to guide them in their dedications and allows them to submit a photo of their loved ones. The dedication pages contain photo galleries, themed patriotic wallpapers and links related to remembering our troops during the holiday.

On Saturday, May 27, at 8 p.m. ET, GAC will also broadcast a special live edition of the Grand Ole Opry dedicated to the men and women in the armed services, featuring performances by Ricky Skaggs, Darryl Worley, Rockie Lynne and more.
