Tony Mullins Biography

"The Hitmen of Music Row"'s Tony Mullins.

Tony Mullins moved to Nashville from the small town of Pound, Virginia during the summer of 1992. About a year later he signed an exclusive writing contract with Byron Gallimore and his publishing company, Song Garden Music.

During his tenure with the company, Tim McGraw recorded four of Mullins' songs as well as numerous artists such as Kenny Chesney, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, John Michael Montgomery, Sons of the Desert, and Lonestar. Mullins' song recorded by Chesney "How Forever Feels," was on the Billboard charts for 32 weeks, including six weeks at No. 1. It also won ASCAP 2000 song of the year.

Mullins found a new home with Universal Music Publishing Group where he continues to write and produce his own creations.

His recent success includes the Ricky Skaggs recording of "Love Does It Everytime," found on the 2005 Grammy-winning bluegrass album Brand New Strings.

In the past year, Mullins' has had singles recorded by Rascal Flatts with "Me and My Gang," and Van Zant with "Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do." LeAnn Rimes also recorded the No. 1 single "Something's Gotta Give." Other Mullins-penned songs include Craig Morgan's "Little Bit of Life" and Rascal Flatts' "Backwards." Montgomery Gentry recorded Mullins' song "Clouds" on their latest album. Mullins most recently has three songs on the current Julie Roberts album and two songs on the upcoming Van Zant album.

Mullins has over 800 songs published and now owns his own publishing company, a co-venture with Universal Music Publishing.
