Matt Gary is a 26-year-old with an undeniable passion for life and music. Raised in Kansas City, KS, Matt was the "boy next door" who spent his summers down at the Lake of the Ozarks daydreaming about becoming a country music star. A youngster on a mission to make his dream come true, he became a member of the Kansas City Youth Choir, performed at school events, in church and at a variety of community functions.
As a teenager, Matt was drawn to "reality" songs. "Just about every song Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw have recorded fit me," he says. "Their songs connect with people and, stylistically, are versatile to attract listeners of all ages. They just make the right decisions when it comes to song selection. Keith Urban falls in the same category for me."
In addition to country musics most renowned recording artists and storytellers, his CD collection included Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Justin Timberlake, Nickelback, Maroon 5, Linkin Park, and Hinder.
After graduation from high school, Matts goal was to head to Music City to pursue his career in music, but, his parents had a different game plan. "My parents have always been supportive of me and my desire to pursue my music career," he says. "My mom called me her little dreamer, because I was always in my own little world, but she understood. They told me, if I went to college (to secure a back-up plan), theyd support me in my plan to pursue my dream."
Today, a graduate from the University of Tampa, with not one, but two degrees (a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and a B.A. in Digital Art with Concentration in 3-D Animation), Matt is a full-time resident of Nashvillea recording artist set to illuminate the country music scene.
