The 28th Annual George Strait Team Roping Classic began Friday, March 12, 2010 at the San Antonio Rose Palace. Actor James Pickens, Jr., best known as Chief Richard Webber on the ABC series, "Grey's Anatomy," was spotted at the two-day event on Saturday and visited with the Strait family. Pickens enjoys roping in his spare time and is a member of the USTRC (United States Team Roping Championships). He recently founded a non-profit charity called, the James Pickens Jr. Foundation, which will host its first annual roping event at the Tejon Ranch Equestrian Center in Lebec, California on April 22, 2010.
