March 29, 2007 — Although he has kept pretty quiet so far on the details of his recent marriage, Dierks Bentley finally opens up in the current issue of People. He tells all about the night in Las Vegas when he and wife, Cassidy, got engaged and their wedding just two days later on a beach in Mexico.

Cassidy tells the magazine that they tied the knot in a little chapel south of the border and describes the ceremony as "beautiful and private and real." Dierks had a stylist friend bring Cassidy a wedding dress, and he admits he was nervous about it, since "you don't want to pick out a woman's wedding dress."

The couple talks about balancing life on the road, as Dierks works the spring leg of his headlining tour, with the new urge to be together at home. "After three days apart, it gets hard," Dierks says. "We try not to go any longer than that."

Although Dierks and Cassidy had dated while in high school, Dierks says the relationship didn't last because he was "way too immature and into drinking beer and guns and blowing things up."

They renewed their friendship after Cassidy went to see one of Dierks' shows in Las Vegas in February 2005, and things moved quickly from there.
