June 15, 2007 — Tracy Lawrence is perched atop the national music trade charts with his 17th No. 1 record, "Find Out Who Your Friends Are," making him the first country artist with his own record label, RCR (Rocky Comfort Records), to reach No. 1 with the debut single release on that label.

"I am so grateful to country radio for supporting us as an independent and helping us reach the public with my music," Tracy said. "It's been a dream of mine for a long, long time to own my own record label, but to have a No. 1 hit with my first single release is an even bigger dream come true for me. From promotion to public relations, from sales and marketing to distribution, I truly have an all-star team. "

"Find Out Who Your Friends Are" is Tracy's first No. 1 since 1997, when he hit the top with "Is That a Tear." The single was released to radio last August and has ranked consistently among the Top 5 since the third week of December. Tracy's CD, For the Love, released in January, marked his first studio collection in nearly three years.

Tracy tells Dial-Global that when he first heard "Find Out Who Your Friends Are," it hit close to home for him. "I've had highs and lows in this business and I've had a great run as an artist, and I've seen how people turn their back on you when you have some negative press," he says. "When I heard this song I felt a very strong connection to it. That's really the only thing you can say — is you just have to be tough and persevere and find solace in the music. That's what I've always done."
