August 1, 2007 — Miranda Lambert says the main theme that runs through both her albums is being a strong woman. "I might say it in different ways and weird ways," she tells the Tacoma, Wash., News Tribune, "but even the most vulnerable songs, like ‘Desperation,' it still takes strength to say something like that — to really admit that you're desperate for someone."
Miranda has a lot of fun with her tough-girl image, though. A tent has been set up at each of her tour stops to solicit crazy ex-girlfriend confessions, which are videotaped and posted on the singer's fan site.
"We've had some good ones, just not many," Miranda says. "I don't know why the girls are scared, because I put an album out about my story. So they should just go for it."
And what about her own confession? "I haven't actually shot" anyone, she says, laughing. "I do take from experiences of my own, but a lot of it I make up in my head, you know."
With all this talk about getting even with bad boyfriends, should Miranda's boyfriend, Blake Shelton, be worried? "He says he's not, but I think he is deep down," she jokes. "He's still with me, but I don't know if that's out of 'want to' or fear."
