Oct. 8, 2008 — Kellie Pickler’s new self-titled album has plenty of songs about broken hearts and messed-up romances, and that’s appropriate, since she’s gone through several in her personal life.

In fact, if you pay close attention to the lyrics of Kellie’s material, you’ll have a good idea of the emotional circumstances of her everyday existence. And that means she has to re-live the best and the worst of times on a regular basis.

"You know the saying ‘When you go to work, leave your bags at the door and pick ‘em up on the way out’ — I’ve always said that," she told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "But I think in our profession we take our bags everywhere. When I go on stage and sing, I’m singing about those bags, you know, that I’ve been carrying. So, you can’t really put ‘em down. You kinda carry ‘em everywhere. They’re like a backpack that you can’t get off."

Kellie, GAC’s Fan Focus Artist" for October, stocked her backpack with a current song that’s likely a positive affirmation for herself as much as for her fans: "Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful." The first single off the Kellie Pickler album, it’s ranked as the No. 1 video on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.
