Dec. 30, 2008 — Pat Green is riding in country music’s Top 20 with his current single, "Let Me," a love song with a big guitar solo that sets up his next album.

Pat married his wife, Kori, in June 2000, and his view of love is that it’s something you do — not something that happens to you.

"I think love is mostly about effort," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "You cannot have a shortage of effort when it comes to being in love and staying in love. Now my wife, we’ve been married for eight years now, and we have a couple of kids. At that point, it’s really easy to let that relationship that brought you to these children slip away and kind of become distant. You become these two people that occupy the same room. And so, yeah, that’s what we keep trying to do — have real conversations, really turn off the TV and get off the Internet as much as we can and just pay attention to each other."

Pat will also be paying close attention to the calendar. His next album, What I’m For, is slated for release on Jan. 27.
