GAC says "No Labor" for Labor Day Weekend

Network enlists artists and viewers as programmers take the weekend off
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- (August 31, 2006) - This weekend the programmers of television network Great American Country are taking the entire weekend off and letting artists and viewers chose what videos will air with the "My Music Mix" Marathon, "Top 20 Country Countdown" and special viewer video request blocks.

"It's going to be an exciting weekend with the favorite videos of both artists and the fans," says Sarah Trahern, senior vice president of the network. "We're handing the network over so the viewers can enjoy the music they love while catching up on the previous My Music Mix season during the long weekend."

Fans start off the weekend fun with "GAC's Top 20 Countdown" at 10 a.m. ET Saturday, when host Nan Kelley is joined in the studio by Rodney Atkins and Darryl Worley as she counts the 20 most requested videos of the week on GACtv.com. The "My Music Mix" Marathon begins Saturday, September 2 at 2 p.m. ET and airs in blocks throughout the weekend. In between episodes of "My Music Mix" and other GAC weekend programming, the video rotation will be dictated by fan video requests gathered throughout the summer at the GAC Tour Bus. Viewers will also see footage from the many tour stops the bus traveled to this summer.

On Monday, viewers will be treated to an all-day "My Music Mix" marathon beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Fans can catch up and relive their favorite episodes with artists Carrie Underwood, Neal McCoy, Sara Evans, SHeDAISY, Phil Vassar, Blake Shelton, Billy Ray Cyrus and more. The all-day marathon leads to the new season of "My Music Mix," with the premiere of the first episode at 9 p.m. ET featuring BNA recording artist Pat Green. Other artists set to stop by this season include Little Big Town, Darryl Worley, Lonestar and more.

In the spirit of Labor Day, comedian and country music fan Henry Cho will appear throughout the weekend with his "man-on-the-street" comedy segments with viewers giving personal accounts on their best, worst and dream jobs.
