A GAC EXCLUSIVE PRESENTATION

Trisha Yearwood is not only a world-class singer — she's also a darn good cook! The country superstar has collected the best recipes in her family for her new cookbook, "Georgia Cooking In An Oklahoma Kitchen," and now she's giving fans all over the country a crash course in some of the best southern cuisine with a GAC special, "Trisha Yearwood: From Our Kitchen To Yours."

This GAC exclusive special was shot in Trisha's suburban home in Brentwood, Tenn., with assistance from her cookbook co-writers: mother Gwen and sister Beth. In addition to food, the program also features some of the family's favorite videos, including "Georgia Rain," "Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love," "Walkaway Joe," "Squeeze Me In" and "Everybody Knows," in which Gwen makes a cameo appearance.

Among the recipes they cover on-camera are the Yearwood secrets for deviled eggs and macaroni and cheese, essential in nearly every Southerner's diet.

"Macaroni and cheese is a meal in itself," Trisha notes. "Our daddy always said we would eat anything if it was covered in cheese sauce, which was true. Beth actually got engaged over cheese sauce!"

Don't miss Trisha Yearwood: From Our Kitchen To Yours, premiering Thursday, May 8 at 9 p.m. ET! COMPLETE SCHEDULE >>

This is just one of the many beautiful photographs of Trisha's Nashville kitchen and dining room. "I saw this table in a store in SoHo called Zona about 15 years ago, and decided I had to have it," she tells GACTV.com. "It is entirely ceramic, came over on a boat from Italy, and has a built in lazy susan. I love it!" Trisha shares more photos and tells personal stories about her recipes and kitchen decor in this GAC exclusive photo gallery. VIEW ALL PHOTOS >>

GEORGIA COOKING IN AN OKLAHOMA KITCHEN

Filled with homespun recipes and the stories behind them, the cookbook began as homemade gift of family favorites that Trisha Yearwood’s mom and sister made for the vocalist when she relocated to Oklahoma. The scrapbook of recipes took on greater significance for the ladies of the Yearwood clan after the passing of Trisha’s father. A year in the making, Georgia Cooking In An Oklahoma Kitchen contains anecdotes, funny quotes and recipes for down-home Southern fare like Gwen’s Fried Chicken With Milk Gravy, Ribbon Meatloaf, Daddy’s Biscuits, Pecan-Pie Muffins and Just-Married Pound Cake.
