Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks

Q: Are Garth brooks and Trisha Yearwood going to have a baby together?
(Shonda, Bentonville, AR)

A: Shonda, we asked Trisha that question a couple of years back and, even then, she said it was doubtful that she and Garth would have children together. "I don't have a burning desire to have a child, we're both getting older, and I'm loving my part in helping Garth raise his daughters," she said at the time. So, now that more time has passed and she's set to release and support a new album, it doesn't appear that Garth and Trisha will have a child of their own.

Q: What is going on with Billy Currington? I hope he is doing well with his issues. His fans miss him!
(Pam, Columbus, GA)

A: Pam, I'm happy to report that Billy Currington is in a great place these days, after he took time off to address some personal issues. His album is scheduled for an early 2008 release. For now, he's cheering on his single, "Tangled Up," that's doing well on the charts. For now, Billy has no performances scheduled for the rest of this year, but is looking forward to getting back in the saddle early next year to support the release of his album and get back on the road.

Q: Is Jake Owen kin to Alabama's lead singer, Randy Owen?
(Margaret, Mathias, WV)

A: Even though Jake Owen was born and raised in Florida — which borders Alabama — Jake is not related to Randy Owen, lead singer of Alabama.

Q: Could you please provide any information as to why Curb Records did not promote Jo Dee Messina's single, "Biker Chick," and why they have shelved Jo Dee's new album, Unmistakable? I have heard Jo Dee sing many of the songs on the Unmistakable album and they are great. She is definitely the most underrated artist in country music.
(Linda, Montgomery, AL)

A: Linda, I don't feel that Jo Dee Messina is underrated, but she's been a bit of an underachiever, with short runs of brilliant success between longer runs of spotty success. And, even though neither Jo Dee, nor her label, is talking about why they delayed the release of her new album, it's probably related to the fact the leadoff single, "Biker Chick," did not become a big hit. The timing of the single's release was to have it become a hit and create big demand for the album when it came out. Right now it's probably back to the drawing board for more research on what song will become a big hit, after which they'll schedule the release of the album.

Q: Is Tim McGraw going to be coming out with a video for "If You're Reading This?" We love that song; it hits home. I saw it on the ACM Awards and cried my eyes out.
(Patty, Nelsonville, OH)

A: Patty, there was no special music video made of Tim McGraw's "If You're Reading This." The only video you occasionally see of the song was Tim's debut performance of it, taken from the ACM Awards telecast.
