Meet John C. Andersen, Jr.:


John C. Andersen calls Nashville, Tenn. home and believes his purpose on earth is to make music and spread it to the masses. His musical tastes range from Keith Urban to Nickel Creek and he says he's able to draw his music inspirations from everyone and everything. John is fluent in the Norwegian language and wears his dad’s Norwegian Army tags for good luck, hoping they help crown him the Next GAC Star.

I first knew I wanted to be a singer? When I was in high school, my buddies always used to get me to sing for them and their families. I guess that experiencing the joy it brought them drove me into performance addiction.

Wants to improve: I would like to improve in vocal detexterity. Sometimes I don't want to leave the stage, and I would like to be able to stick around and perform longer.

Greatest strength: My ability to really connect and communicate with the people who listen to my music.

Competitive edge:I have a very diligent work ethic and a huge desire to achieve my dreams for many more than just myself.

Ultimate goal: To share my music with the world and to entertain everyone with music they can relate their lives to.

What one thing about you would surprise GAC viewers? I'm bilingual. I also speak Norwegian. I used to sing Latin music.

What do you do for fun? I go fishing, write songs, go to the movies, go fishing, play backyard football, go fishing, and play tennis. Did I mention fishing?

What makes you laugh? Will Ferrel. Just about all of my friends are comedians; they just don't know it.

Greatest triumph of your life: In music, overcoming stage-fright. In life, just building the inner-courage to take my life into my own hands and chase my crazy dreams.

What makes you cry? Losing loved ones. I'm not good at final goodbyes.

What's the greatest personal hurdle you've overcome in life? Choosing what direction I wanted to take my life. I had to follow my heart.

What would you discuss with that person? Life and everything about it. Also, how He felt about sacrificing His life for others.

Dream vacation: Hawaii

Key to happiness: Doing what you love and bringing happiness to others.

Biggest misconception about you: I've had people think that I'm arrogant before they had the chacne to meet or speak with me when in fact, I'm grateful for everyone and everything in my life, and I enjoy being open and conversational.

Most embarrassing moment: Playing the lead in an elementary school Christmas musical as "Santa Clause."

What do you value most in your friends? I value their amazing support for me and their faith in me and my abilities. They're also very selfless.

Why do you want to win the title, "The Next GAC Star"? I know that winning will bring me one more huge step to spreading my music to a large population. I want to bring joy to as many people as I can through my music. I also want to win for my family and friends, and everyone that ever believed in me and my abilities.
