Meet Angela Engelman:
Angela Engelman, 23, describes her personal style of music as "southern soul," because of her love for both country and gospel music. Raised in a small town outside of Nashville, Tenn., she has been writing her own songs for eight years after her mom began buying her journals. A performer since the age of two, she says music is more than her dream, it is her passion and she is blessed to share it with anyone listening.

I first knew I wanted to be a singer? Well, I sang my first song at 18 months, so pretty much from then on?
Dream singing partner: Not sure. It changes with my mood.

Greatest strength: My ability to know that I do not know it all.
Ultimate goal: I think it would really rock to own my own label.

What one thing about you would surprise GAC viewers? I am a little shy and can be a tad antisocial.
What do you do for fun? I read, write, dance. I love to dance!
What makes you laugh? Random humor.
Greatest triumph of your life: Learning to overcome my desire and inability to please everyone.
What makes you cry? Pretty much everything. I am sort of a crybaby.
What's the greatest personal hurdle you've overcome in life? Accepting faults in others. I have a bad habit of putting people on a pedestal and getting disappointed when they fall.

Biggest misconception about you: That I am social.
Most embarrassing moment: I am not sure, really. I usually don't get embarrassed.
What do you value most in your friends? Understanding.
Why do you want to win the title, "The Next GAC Star"? It is an opportunity of a lifetime. People will come to this town with dreams of "making it" and work for years, only to end up empty-handed. I don't plan on being one of those people.
