February 12, 2007 The Dixie Chicks swept "The 49th annual GRAMMY Awards," with wins in three major all-genre categories: Album of the Year for Taking The Long Way, and Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Not Ready To Make Nice." They also won Grammys for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal and Best Country Album.
Carrie Underwood won the all-genre award for Best New Artist, besting other nominees James Blunt, Chris Brown, Imogen Heap and Corrine Bailey Rae. "I love country music!" shouted Carrie as she accepted her award.
