Hank Williams Jr. Sings for Recovering Miner

April 11, 2006—Last Saturday Hank Williams Jr. visited Randal McCloy and his wife, Anna, making good on his promise to visit the lone survivor of the Sago Coal Mine tragedy and his family.

Bocephus had promised Anna he would make a return visit once Randal was home and out of his coma. What's the Hank Jr. connection? When McCloy was in the hospital recovering from the mining accident, his wife played the music of his favorite artist—Hank Williams Jr.—particularly "A Country Boy Can Survive." So when Hank visited the McCloys, that's exactly what he sang. He spent most of the day with the McCloy family, picking the guitar, signing autographs and just hanging out with friends and family.

"I, along with the entire population of America, am so glad to see Randal home," says Hank. "It was touch and go for a while, and to know he is on his way to hunting and fishing again, puts a smile on my face."
