Emergency Surgery For Johnny Van Zant

May 19, 2006--GAC sends well wishes to Johnny Van Zant, one half of the country duo Van Zant, and also the lead singer of legendary rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Johnny underwent emergency surgery yesterday to have his appendix removed at Stanford Medical Center. His post-operative rehabilitation will prevent him from performing for the next seven days. Unfortunately, this means that Van Zant will not appear at the ACM Awards on May 23, as previously planned.
