June 7, 2006--Yesterday in Nashville, Gary Allan hosted his fan club party. X Radio reports that he told the sold-out crowd that he looks forward to the CMA Music Festival because the guy that makes his guitars is from Australia and he always gives Gary a new guitar before the event. Then Gary asked that they turn down the lights. He showed the crowd this years guitar, a white-colored six string that glows in the dark! During his performance, Gary debuted a couple of new songs from his upcoming CD, describing them as "angry songs," but promised that the new album would include a few love songs too. Gary, who has been in Costa Rica writing for the new project, says, "I wanted to be able to get away for awhile to concentrate on my writing, so I rented a cabin in the jungle for a couple of weeks. It was great. The only people I saw the entire time were an occasional jungle tour."
On a somber note, Gary thanked everyone that made a donation to the American Cancer Society(he raffled off the entire front row at his fan club show to benefit the charity)and then announced that his dad was "dying from cancer right now." Gary chose not to entertain the customary photo/autograph line at the party this year, but he did provide every fan club member in attendance with an autographed picture.
