June 30, 2006--John Anderson hit it big in the '80s with hits including "Wild and Blue," "Black Sheep" and his signature song, "Swingin'." Then in the '90s he had a "comeback" with the songs "Straight Tequila Night," "Money in the Bank" and "Seminole Wind." And now, with the help of Nashville's uber-artist, John Rich [of Big & Rich], John Anderson is ready for a second comeback.
"As we speak, I'm driving into Nashville to meet with Warner Brothers, my old label," Anderson revealed to the Tulsa World in a recent telephone conversation. "You can say that chances are very high that we're going to sign."
On his new recording project, Anderson is working with a kindred spirit--Rich, who's producing the album. "He's a great young producer," says Anderson. "We met and got to be friends, and we started writing together. The songs we were doing got to being real good, and people got interested. This [his new project] has been talked about around town for a while, but you know how talk is. The heat didn't get turned up until three or four weeks ago."
Anderson is excited at the possibility of a third go-round on the charts. "Well, it's like our good friend Waylon said, this is a cyclical business," he noted. "For a while there, I wasn't sure if it was ever gonna come back around for me, but now I'm thinking ol' Waylon was right."
