July 6, 2006 – X Radio reports that Jason Aldean is currently writing and recording songs for his sophomore album. He is working with old song writing buddy, John Rich for the project.

"John and I met a few years ago," says Jason. "We were writing songs for the same publishing company. I started hearing some of his songs and I thought, ‘My, this guy is a great songwriter. You know, he’s got something about his songs that nobody else really has.’"

Jason started to record some of John’s songs even before Big & Rich got their record deal and one of those songs was Aldean’s number one hit, "Why." Since then, Jason and John have been working together. "We just kinda clicked," he says. "He was writing stuff that I liked and we ended up hooking up together and writing a couple of songs."

Jason’s sophomore project is expected out sometime later this year.
