July 10, 2006--Rascal Flatts Gary LeVox tells X Radio that one of his fellow artists, Blake Shelton, wasnt exactly deserving of the welcome wagon when he had to go meet his new neighbor. Gary explains that Blake had to break the news to the sheriffs deputy that he just killed one of his goats that had been constantly eating stuff on Blake's property.
"So Blake grabbed a shotgun with like birdshot," says Gary. "[You] shoot em in the rear end and they take off running. He shot one and it dropped, so he thought it was a fainting goat. So he walks up there and he was like, Good Lord, Ive killed this goat. And he knew it was the neighbors. So he goes over there and knocks on the door and says, Sir, I want to introduce myself. Im Blake Shelton, your new neighbor. You dont happen to have any goats, do you? He says, Yeah, Ive got two of them. Theyre my little girls pets.
"Blake says, I dont know how to tell you this, but Ive killed one of them goats. It was eatin my rugs and everything else. But I was just shootin at it just to get him to run back over there."
Gary adds that when Blake and his neighbor went back to Blake's house to retrieve the dead goat, the officers dog had followed them down there. Apparently the neighbor feared Blake would shoot his dog too and started frantically yelling at him to "get on back to the house!"
