July 12, 2006--Hank Williams Jr. recently spoke with blueroom.att.com about a number of topics, including his friendship with Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter Cash. "June Carter Cash was my godmother, and me and Johnny hunted Civil War artifacts all the time," Hank tells the website. "We loved guns--the old, mostly antique guns. We loved metal detecting when we were looking for stuff. My mother, Audrey Williams, and June Carter were very close friends."

Hank also told the website about his new album, That's How They Do It In Dixie: The Essential Collection. "A lot of the big hits are on there, but 'Stirring It Up' and 'Dixie' are the two new ones," he says. "'Stirring It Up' is a lot of fun--you might want to check that one out. 'Stirring It Up' is about right now, today." Today is not too bad for Hank Jr.--That's How They Do It In Dixie: The Essential Collection is Billboard's No. 3 best selling album of the week.
