CCMA Announces First Round Of Performers

July 12, 2006--The Canadian Country Music Association announced the first slate of performers for the CCMA Awards, to be held this year in Saint John, New Brunswick. Producers report that the initial acts confirmed for this September 11 will include Canadian country superstars George Canyon, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Corb Lund and The Road Hammers, with more to be announced in coming weeks.

The CCMA Awards show is one of Canada's only music award shows to be seen at home on two networks, plus in the U.S. and in Australia. The show will air live on CBC TV in Canada and will be shown in the United States on GAC, and in Australia on CMC (Country Music Channel).

The official announcement of CCMA Awards nominees for 2006 will be released August 2 during simultaneous press conferences in Saint John, NB and Toronto, ON.
