July 27, 2006-- John Rich of Big & Rich is a co-writer on Faith Hill’s current single, "Sunshine And Summertime," which is sailing up the charts. But John tells X Radio that during a past summer tour with Tim McGraw, he had gotten a little too comfortable around Faith and failed to show her the proper respect on the way to the stage one night. "For a brief second I forgot that she’s Faith Hill," says John. "We were going to the stage and I said, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, the queen of country music,’ and I knelt down in front of her and I actually kissed her on top of her foot because she was wearing an open toed sandal. And it was totally inappropriate. It was not intended to be taken the way it was, but it was.
"Me and Mr. McGraw had a conversation about it," continues John. "And he said, ‘You gotta respect my wife.’ I said, ‘I did not mean disrespect, I just got a little too comfortable with her--it’ll never happen again.’
"We laugh about it now," he adds. "Tim’s told me stuff he’s done--crazy stuff, back when he was younger and just comin’ up--you just learn. Faith and I laugh about it now when we get together. I go, ‘What kind of toenail polish you wearing today?’ and she’ll just hit me in the ribs. It’s funny."
