New Record Deal For Carolyn Dawn Johnson

July 28, 2006--Allaboutcountry.com reports that Carolyn Dawn Johnson has signed a record deal with Clint Black's Equity Music Group. The Canadian singer/songwriter had been on Arista/Nashville, and had two Top 10 hits in America-- "Complicated" and "I Don't Want You To Go." Equity has already shipped the title track to her latest album, Love & Negotiation, to Country Radio.

The Edmonton Son reports that CDJ approached this album differently, producing it independently and shopping it around to a major label for distribution. Lyrically, it also reflects lessons she's learned over the course of 35 years and what you can and can't give up.

"Love & Negotiation is all about doing what you can for your family, your kids," she says, "trying to get a raise, making deals with God."
