July 28, 2006--Carrie Underwood graces the cover of the September issue of Teen People with the caption, "Carrie Underwood’s Rocky Love Life." X Radio reports that the article says Carrie and her boyfriend of nine months--Chad, a 21-year-old marketing student at the University of Arkansas--recently broke up. The demands of her career proved to be too much. Carrie always said she’d never date anyone in the business, but admits it was tough dating someone who wasn’t.
"I totally see why celebrities date other celebrities now," she says. Carrie also talks about how her heart got broken by a long-time college beau who she dumped because he cheated on her. Some other topics that Carrie discusses include her strict upbringing by religious parents and how she feared the "I’m disappointed in you" speech; why she became a vegetarian, (her friends raised cows to show them, then would eat them, which made Carrie feel "horribly guilty"); and how she has no desire to compete with the pop divas, noting, "I don’t dance. I’m not a tummy show-er?I felt like I fit in the country world, where I didn't have to change." Look for Carrie’s story in the final issue of Teen People that will hit newsstands August 4.
