August 7, 2006--According to The Tennessean, the Dixie Chicks' Nashville concert stop this fall has been rescheduled. The promoter, AEG Live, announced several changes in the itinerary of the pop-country trio's Accidents & Accusations tour. Among them: Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center show scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, will now take place on Friday, December 1. Tickets for the original date will be honored.

The promoter said some dates were delayed "to accommodate demand" and to allow promotion of the debut of the documentary film, Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing.

Ticket sales for the current tour started slowly in early June, and several shows have been postponed or canceled because of poor ticket sales. In Nashville, about half the available tickets were sold the first weekend. It was not known late Friday how many tickets have been sold to date.

The group's latest album, Taking the Long Way, sold 1.5 million copies in its first eight weeks, making it one of the top-selling country albums of the year. But it has received virtually no airplay on country radio.
