August 10, 2006--Allaboutcountry.com reports that country singer Johnny Rodriguez was still recovering in a Fort Worth hospital Wednesday after a tumble from a horse while team roping with a friend, according to the San Antonio Express. While still in the intensive care unit, he was in fair condition, an official with John Peter Smith Hospital said.
The accident occurred Monday at a ranch near Fort Worth when Rodriguez, 53, was thrown from his horse and apparently kicked in the jaw, a business associate said. He was taken by helicopter to the hospital.
With hits from the early 1970s through the '80s, Johnny rose to fame with such songs as "Pass Me By (If You're Only Passing Through)," "Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico" and "That's the Way Loves Goes."
