Alan Jackson with his mother Ruth at the taping of Alan's "Precious Memories" special

September 1, 2006--Alan Jackson's mother Ruth was the inspiration for Alan's CMA-nominated Album of the Year, Precious Memories. She admits she pretty much stays in the back ground of her famous son's career most of the time. But when it comes to Alan’s die-hard fans, X Radio reports that mom sees them quite regularly. "I see all of his fans more than he does ‘cause they come to visit me," says Ruth.

"They know where I live and they come to my house," adds Mrs. Jackson, who has lived in the same Georgia house since she married Alan’s father some 60 years ago. "So, I see a lot of fans." AJ's mom confesses that after her husband passed away, her protective son did try to set up a barrier between his mother and his fans. "Alan had the yard fenced and he thought he was going to protect me, but he doesn’t know I let the fans in anyway," she laughs. "I don’t say much about it, but I enjoy them coming."
