October 19, 2006--Allaboutcountry.com reports that Capitol/Nashville recording artist Eric Church has quit the Rascal Flatts "Me & My Gang" tour before performing in Omaha on Thursday night.

Eric revealed this to Ritch Cassidy on the air on KXKT ("KAT103")/Omaha. Eric explained exactly why he quit. He told Cassidy that it was an amiable situation, with "no bad blood" between him and Rascal Flatts.

"We played too long, and were too loud," Eric proclaimed. He then said that he will stay on the road playing solo at other venues. Eric also quipped that just maybe he will call it the "Me & Myself" tour.

Meanwhile, Big Machine Records artist Taylor Swift has just been named the opener for the nine remaining dates of the Rascal Flatts tour, beginning October 19 in Omaha.
