October 23, 2006--Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. ("Cracker Barrel") announced that its Songs Of The Year CD will receive national attention on October 26 when Deana Carter & Heart perform on CBS Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Deana & Heart will sing "Go Rest High On That Mountain." Originally recorded by Vince Gill, this song earned a Grammy Award for Best Country Song and a Country Music Association Song of the Year award.
"This song is just so special because I love Vince Gills version," said Deana during an interview with Kevin Richards, host of "Boot Scootin Saturday Night" on Sirius Satellite Radio. "This song is so personal for him and its message is so spiritual and hopeful. Plus, I got to record the song with Heart. Ive been a big fan of Heart for many years and its a blessing to do this song with them."
In addition to the Late, Late Show performance, Deana & Heart will sing the award-winning song at the November 5 "Songs Of The Year" concert in Nashville. Hank Williams, Jr., Josh Turner and Jason Aldean have joined the artist lineup. Previously announced performers are Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood, The Wreckers, Jamie O Neal & Michael McDonald, Ronnie Milsap & Jypsi, Lonestar, Jo Dee Messina and Billy Currington.
The Songs Of The Year performances will be captured by GAC and later produced as a two-hour concert special and behind-the scenes documentary. GAC will premiere its Songs Of The Year documentary on November 21 at 8 p.m. The two-hour Songs Of The Year concert special will premiere January 27 at 9 p.m.
