November 1, 2006--Lorrie Morgan, who has led one of the most colorful lives in country music, has just finished writing her autobiography in musical form, reports The Tennessean.
.
Her manager Burt Stein is now in negotiations for a label deal for the project, which she began writing in January with Mark Oliverius and Kelly Lang. The paper says Lorrie, 47, is the quintessential country female star, a throwback to the country divas such as Tammy Wynette, Dottie West and Jeannie Seely. Her second husband, Keith Whitley, died of an alcohol overdose. She later had romances with Fred Thompson and Troy Aikman, and is now separated from her fifth husband, singer Sammy Kershaw.
"We've got about 21 songs written for it," says Lorrie. "A lot of people pay a lot of money for therapy, and I got to be involved in this working relationship with the other two writers that was totally therapeutic for me."
What has Lorrie learned through this personal exploration? "I am still an emotional idiot!" she jokes. "No, I learned that I am stronger than I ever really thought I was. I really am."
