Rascal Flatts Gets Five Billboard Noms

December 1, 2006--The finalists for "The 2006 Billboard Music Awards" have been announced, and Rascal Flatts leads with the most nominations—five in all. In the all-genre categories, Rascal Flatts is among the nominees for Artist of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year, and Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts is up for Album of the Year. Nominees in the country categories are:

Artist of the Year: Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood; Male Artist: Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw; Female Artist: Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson; Duo/Group Artist: Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland; Album: Me and My Gang by Rascal Flatts, Some Hearts by Carrie Underwood and The Road and The Radio by Kenny Chesney; Single: "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)" by Rodney Atkins, "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney and "The World" by Brad Paisley.

"The Billboard Music Awards" will be broadcast live Monday, December 4 on Fox from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Winners are determined by actual performance on the Billboard charts.
