December 5, 2006--Carrie Underwood dominated the country categories at the multi-genre "2006 Billboard Music Awards" broadcast last night from Las Vegas. Carrie took home a total of five awards, with two of them -- Album of the Year and Female Billboard 200 Album Artist of the Year -- in categories competing with artists and albums from Pop, Rap, R&B and Hip-Hop. With only a single award given to Kenny Chesney, Carrie won all other country awards of the night. The nights biggest winner was R&B songstress Mary J. Blige, who took home nine awards. The Billboard Music Awards finalists and winners are determined by a combination of sales data and radio airplay.
