December 13, 2006 — Kenny Chesney says it was both an honor and a dream come true when he got a phone call from Willie Nelson's camp to see if he'd like to co-produce the country legend.

Kenny tells X Radio the sessions were awe-inspiring. "I was out in the middle of the room just listening to it all go down," he says. "You catch the players' eyes, and they're all feeling it, too. Then you look in the vocal booth, and there's Willie Nelson with his headphones on. It's hard to believe you're the one making suggestions about trying it this way. There's only one Willie. You just want to make a record that's as good as he is. You want to live up to the standard he defines."

Kenny first met the "Redheaded Stranger" when he appeared on a TV special to celebrate Willie's 70th birthday. "Willie Nelson's an American classic," Kenny says. "To be making music with him is the kind of thing you don't even dream, and the best part is, everybody involved seems to feel exactly the same way."
