December 27, 2006 LeAnn Rimes will headline the half-time show at the 48th AutoZone Liberty Bowl Football Classic in Memphis on Friday, December 29. She will also perform at the President's Gala the night before the bowl at the Peabody Hotel, where she will receive the Bowl's Outstanding Achievement Award. This award is presented each year to an individual or group who has exhibited excellence in their chosen field and service to community. Past recipients include B.B. King, Lou Rawls, Clint Black, Little Richard, Alabama and the Beach Boys.
"LeAnn Rimes is one of the biggest names in music today and she certainly adds a great deal of star power to the President's Gala and half-time show," says Calvin Anderson, president of the 2006 AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association.
LeAnn is an active supporter of numerous charities, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. She serves as the official "voice" of the Children's Miracle Network, which is dedicated to raising funds for children's hospitals around the country. She has also devoted her time to giving back to our troops by performing at U.S. Air Force and Army bases in the U.S. and around the world.
