January 18, 2007 — With the sixth season of "American Idol" now under way, one "Idol" success story, Kellie Pickler, has some advice for this season's contestants. "The best advice is just go in and be yourself and find songs that compliment your voice," she tells X Radio. "It's not always about having songs that necessarily have the highest vocal range. I sat down with Kenny Rogers, and one of the best [pieces of] advice that he gave us is it's not always about the vocal range."

Kellie says contestants should concentrate on feeling the song and connecting with the audience. "It's about putting yourself in the music and really delivering a good performance," she says. "It's about the deliverance of the song. That's important."
