January 29, 2007 — Jake Owen is one country newcomer who is determined to make the most of his opportunity to be an artist. Since listeners are just getting familiar with his music, Dial-Global asked Jake what he would like people to know about him.

"I'm just a normal real human being that sings songs that I wrote that have a lot to do with life and love and happiness," he replies. "And I'm [going to be] here hopefully for a long time because I'm trying to build a career, not just a few years as a little hit songwriting kind of guy. I want to establish a career and carve my own little niche — where people hear my song on the radio and say, 'That's a Jake Owen song' when it starts, rather than 'Who is that?'"

Jake's current single, "Startin' With Me," is moving up the charts.
