February 1, 2007 — The Dixie Chicks won four out of 11 categories in the Nashville Scene's annual music poll. More than 80 critics from newspapers, magazines, alternative newsweeklies and fanzines voted on the best country acts and records of 2006.

The Dixie Chicks won Best Album for Taking the Long Way, Best Single for "Not Ready to Make Nice," Best Group or Duo, and Best Overall. Other winners included Alan Jackson for Best Male Vocal, Rosanne Cash for Best Female Vocalist, Kenny Chesney for Best Live Act, and the Wreckers for Best New Act.
