February 16, 2007 — A group of quilters in Essex Junction, Vt., is putting together a stack of autographed quilting squares that when stitched together will become a "who's who" throw quilt of the country music scene. The quilt will be sold in an online auction to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network and the Vermont Children's Hospital,
George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers and Travis Tritt are among the artists who have contributed to the project so far, the Burlington Free Press reports.

WOKO DJ "Cowboy" Cal Daniels, who initiated the drive, says, "The country stars, they're helping the same people who go to their shows and listen to their music. We've never seen such an amazing outpouring."

Global Garage Sale, a local eBay drop-off store, will list the quilt in a 10-day eBay auction from February 25 through March 6.
