March 1, 2007 — Tonight is the season finale of "Nashville Star," and Blake Shelton, who has been a judge this season, tells Dial-Global he thinks he knows who will take the crown. The three remaining contestants are Angela Hacker, her baby brother Zac Hacker and David St. Romain.
"I think Angela Hacker, as long as she continues to be as good as she has been, is just running away with this thing," Blake says. "And it's not because the rest of them are no good. Everybody out there seems like they kind of have their own thing and they're all talented."
Blake says he's happy that America has discovered Angela through the show. "It's great for the show," he says, "but you wonder where somebody like her has been all this time, somebody that's that incredibly talented and her brother too. I think she's gonna do great. And it's really neat to see this happening on this show because she could have just moved to town and eventually got a record deal and been a star. I think she's gonna win."
Blake says it's been hard to be an entertaining judge and that he wishes he could offer the contestants more than sarcasm and a smart mouth, but he says he doesn't know how to tell people to do better, so he just gives his take on their performances.
