March 19, 2007 When it was time to make the video for her second single, "I Wonder," Kellie Pickler said it had to be shot at the Ryman Auditorium. "This is where I've always wanted to be able to perform," Kellie told Stephanie Langsdon of WKRN. "It's where all my favorite artists performed. It's almost like closure for me. At the end of the song it talks about 'your little girl is off to Tennessee.' What better place to wrap it up but here at the Ryman Auditorium, where all my dreams are coming true."
The song is a reflection of Kelllie's life without her mother, who left her when she was a child. "Of course, this is a very emotional and personal song and probably the most personal song on the record," she said. "We're going to make the song come to life, and it's exciting."
Kellie said she's happy to share her life with listeners. "The great thing about it is it's just honest country music," she said. "That's what country music is: it's about life, and it's nice to know that people listen to the record and they feel they have something in common with your music. As long as I'm honest about what I'm singing and it's relatable to the listeners, then I've accomplished my goal."
