March 30, 2007 A Maryland man accused of stalking Michelle Branch was arrested at a Wreckers concert in Sheboygan, Wis., on Monday after she spotted him in the crowd, the AP reports.
Dominick Giordano was charged with disorderly conduct after Michelle noticed him and asked security to check him out. She then apologized to the crowd, and she and partner Jessica Harp finished the set. Authorities say the man has been following her to concerts around the country since 2003 and regularly sends her letters and videos.
The Wreckers' road manager, Joshua Scott, said, "He used to get into meet-and-greets and private events somehow and would try to approach her and touch her and just really inappropriate stuff."
In the police report, Michelle described herself as frightened by the situation, saying she was particularly concerned because her 19-month-old daughter was at the concert.
On a more pleasant note, Michelle and Jessica will dish about friendship, family and fame on GAC's "Academy of Country Music and GAC Present? The Wreckers" this Monday. Michelle shares with host Lorianne Crook the drama of her first award show experience and how best friend Jessica was there for her even when she (Michelle) wasn't.
"I was in a limo in New York City for the Grammys and the limo driver got lost," she says. "We got stuck in this gnarly traffic jam, and the phone rings and it's Jess, and she's like, 'Congratulations!' And [I said], 'What are you talking about?' She says, 'You don't know? You're not there? You won a Grammy.' [I said]'Oh great. I'm in the car. I'm not even close to being there yet.'"
To see what else Michelle and Jessica have to say about their music and each other, and their ACM Top New Duo or Vocal Group nomination, catch the full interview on Monday, April 2, at 8 p.m. ET on GAC. For additional show dates and air times, visit gactv.com.
