April 25, 2007 Rascal Flatts will take a break from recording their new album to appear on tonight's episode of "American Idol" during the special "Idol Gives Back" two-hour episode hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
When asked by icebergradio.com who they think will win the competition, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus were in total agreement.
"The Tennessee girl," Gary said. "Are you kidding me?
"Melinda Doolittle seems to be the frontrunner and she's an amazing singer," Jay seconded. "She's already a pro. She's been singing background vocals for years. It's kind of an unfair advantage, but she's by far and above a really bright point in that program right now."
Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Quincy Jones, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant and Pink are among the other guests set to appear on the show tonight to lend a hand to charity. "Idol Gives Back" will raise funds and awareness for organizations that provide relief programs to help children in extreme poverty in America and Africa.
Rascal Flatts previously performed on the show's 2005 season finale as the musical guest of then-finalist Carrie Underwood, who was crowned the winner. Their new album is set for release on September 25.
