May 7, 2007 Blake Shelton's Raindance II, held in his hometown of Ada, Okla., last month netted more than $100,000 for Project Rebuild to distribute throughout the state for families affected by natural disasters such as wildfires and tornadoes.
The three-day event included an archery tournament, team roping and closed with a concert on the 24th featuring Blake, Craig Morgan and Neal McCoy. The archery tournament had 300 participants, tripling the number from last year, and the team roping event was closed after 250 teams. The concert was sold-out once again.
"I am truly amazed at the generosity of my fellow Oklahomans, helping a neighbor in need by attending and participating in Raindance," Blake said. "I look forward to growing this event and being able to help even more folks."
Blake is also auctioning his personal guitar to benefit Raindance. The guitar is a 2004 Takamine Sunburst EF350 that he has played for the past two years while touring and making special appearances and played for the final time during the Raindance concert. The guitar will be signed by Blake, Craig and Neal. Bids can be placed at oklahomaraindance.com.
Pure BS, Blake's newest release, hit stores last Tuesday. He will be performing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Tuesday, May 8, on ABC.
