May 15, 2007 Kellie Pickler, who's touring now with Brad Paisley, says she feels right at home living on her 45-foot tour bus.
"I love living on a bus," she tells WCNC of Charlotte, N.C. "Actually, it's kind of weird. When we're not on the road and I'm back home, I can't even sleep in my bed. I just want to call the bus driver tell him to bring the bus so I can sleep in my bunk."
Kellie sleeps on the bus with her tour manager, production manager and band mates. The bus sleeps nine and Kellie is the only female. She sleeps on the bottom bunk and the only privacy is a sliding curtain. "Oh, I love it, it's like my own little coffin," she says of her bunk. "I've got my computer down here, phone and TV, but I don't ever watch TV."
During the "American Idol" tour, Kellie brought along her favorite pillow for comfort but was devastated when she forgot it, so this time around she's not taking any chances. "I have a blankie actually, but I didn't bring it because I was so scared I'd lose it," she says.
Each star on the tour, which also features opening acts Taylor Swift and Jack Ingram, has their own bus, and ironically they're all blue. "Every once in awhile I accidentally get on the wrong bus," Kellie jokes.
