May 25, 2007 — According to Richie McDonald, he and the other members of Lonestar are "still like brothers and always will be brothers." Richie tells Dial-Global that he'll never forget his time with the band and their fans, but he's "really excited about the future."

Richie also suggests that in deciding to leave the group, his priorities may have changed. "I'm not gonna quit writing, performing or recording, but at the same time, I hope in my next 10-year plan that I can spend more time with my family and watch my kids grow up and take in a little more of that time."

Richie says he feels especially bad about the time he missed with his now 11-year-old son. "I'm not complaining," he says. "I'm just saying that I wanna try to make up for some of the lost time."
