August 2, 2007 — Phil Vassar is helping to start the new school year at Virginia Tech on a healing note after last year's tragedy, reports Dial Global. "A Concert for Virginia Tech" will be held on September 6 and Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Nas are also on the bill. All of the artists have agreed to waive their fees, while corporate sponsorships and the sale of commemorative items will be used to help cover the cost of staging the concert.

Additionally, each member of the faculty, student body and their families will receive a free ticket. At this time, tickets are not available to the general public.
