August 10, 2007 — Brooks & Dunn's Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn probably will release solo albums, but it doesn't mean the superstar duo is breaking up, The Tennessean reports. The prolific songwriters just have more songs to record than they have room on their Brooks & Dunn albums.

"In the contract we're signing right now, we have solo projects," Ronnie says of the deal, which is still being negotiated. "That does not in any way mean the franchise is in danger. But we are allowed to release solo projects.

"We are probably working on those now," he adds with a smile. The duo's new album together, Cowboy Town, will be released in October.

In other Brooks & Dunn news, Williamson County's Arrington Vineyards, which is owned by Kix Brooks, Fred Mindermann and Kip Summers, will hold its official free grand opening Saturday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Pat McLaughlin will play on the front hillside from 6 to 8 p.m.

The vineyard's 12 different wines will be available to purchase by those 21 or older. "It's just fun," Kix says of his participation. "I like wine. I like projects. Ronnie probably doesn't get into as much different stuff as I do.

"It seemed like they were already making good wine for about 10 years, so I didn't feel like from a wine standpoint it was a huge gamble. It's a nice place, a great location, and we're all enjoying a little project."
